Frequently Asked Questions
How is Launchpad eligibility determined? How will you determine if my organization is in Year 1, 2, or 3?
  • Your eligibility for this program is determined by the "effective date of exemption" (sometimes called a "ruling date") listed on your IRS Determination Letter.
  • For example, if your date of exemption is October 1, 2023, then your LaunchPad start and renewal dates would be:
    • Year 1: October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2024
    • Year 2: October 1, 2024 - September, 30, 2025
    • Year 3: October 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026
What is a date of exemption? Where do I find my organization’s date of exemption?
  • In order to be considered a public charity or foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, your organization must apply to the IRS for tax-exempt status. If the IRS determines that your organization qualifies, you will be mailed an Exemption Determination Letter confirming your tax-exempt status. Your date of exemption is the “Effective Date of Exemption” listed on that letter.
  • When you apply to the Launchpad program, you’ll enter your organization’s EIN and we’ll look it up in the IRS database of nonprofits to find your Effective Date for you.
Do I have to input billing information even though the first year is free?
  • Yes. Inputting your billing information tells us that you are officially signing up (as opposed to trying out MonkeyPod on a temporary, free trial). That also helps us ensure you get access to the software's full functionality along with all of our training and support resources.
Is there any cost or fee to cancel my subscription?
  • Of course not! We’ll be sad to see you go, but there is no cost or penalty to cancel your subscription. We know that your cash flow may be hard to predict, particularly in those first few years of starting a nonprofit. If you need to deactivate or cancel your subscription, you can always do that by logging into MonkeyPod and navigating to the billing section.
Can I export my data any time?
  • Of course! It’s your data. We are stewards of that data and we take that job very seriously. But you can always export your data out of MonkeyPod whenever you’d like.
I’m not sure what I’m doing. Does MonkeyPod offer any help getting started?
