It’s been a whirlwind few weeks in the US as we’ve processed the results of the recent election. Many vulnerable populations are wondering what the next four years will look like.
The Third Sector – the nonprofit sector – has always played a vital role in protecting and caring for those vulnerable populations, no matter which political party is in control. When governments and market forces fail to protect people, communities, and the environment, the third sector has always stepped in to provide the support and resources needed.
In the next few years, that job is going to be both more critical and more challenging than ever before. MonkeyPod is dedicated to elevating the work of purpose-driven organizations, so we want to do what we can to support the nonprofits on the front lines.
That's why we're introducing the Third Sector Fights Back program.
Starting in January 2025, we’re offering free MonkeyPod subscriptions to nonprofits that need them. Those subscriptions will remain free for four years from the date each organization signs up. This in-kind support, which has an estimated value of $14,000, will be awarded to new MonkeyPod subscribers. And in addition to software access, awardees will receive cash donations of $1,000 each.
With access to MonkeyPod, nonprofits in need will gain a powerful tool that eliminates busywork and helps them focus on their mission. Hundreds of nonprofits have saved time and money with MonkeyPod, and this program will extend those benefits to even more organizations.
Each quarter, we will announce a different segment of the nonprofit sector to highlight and support. For example, we might say that we’re looking to support organizations working on reproductive justice or environmental preservation or LGBTQ+ rights. Our goal will be to identify parts of the nonprofit community that are working on especially critical areas in the evolving political climate.
Starting January 20, 2025, organizations working in those areas can apply to the program by visiting monkeypod.io/third-sector. Applications will be accepted and awards will be announced on a rolling basis. We plan to announce our first round of awards in March 2025.
The next few years are not going to be easy. As a community, times like these challenge us to come together in solidarity. We know you'll do your part, and we’re committed to doing ours as well.
